K-Box plastic fabrication technology

The plastic fabrication technology process involves discussions between the customer and the K-Box technical consultant on the specific enclosure need.

The consultant then translates the need into technology and draws the first technical sketch for documentation.

The sketched ideas are developed and designed in detail using the K-Box CAD system. This system also creates the program for subsequent plastic fabrication manufacturing process.

The flat plastic sheets used for manufacturing are specially manufactured for K-Box and are produced to very tight tolerances and thickness. These are then positioned on the CNC milling machine.

A control program for the complete milling process is called up from the host computer.

Commonly used details like pushouts, recesses, holes and countersinks are provided by a software library and integrated into the milling program.

The scrap material is then removed for recycling.

A process of sawing economically carries out the bending grooves and any necessary connections to the outer profile.

For aesthetic and technical reasons, bending of the component parts is often required, and is again controlled by CNC.

The computer calculates the optimum stop position, heat treatment, bending process of the angles and radii and the cooling rate of the component parts.

The computer controlled K-Box plastic fabrication manufacturing operations guarantee a high level of reproducibility and uniform quality.

Pre-manufactured component parts are placed in an intermediate store awaiting quality control and assembly operations.

In the final assembly the pre manufactured component parts are fixed together to form functional enclosures.

Cost-effective prototype production

As the costs for tools and shaping are eliminated, this technique permits both cost-effective production of prototypes and the economic mass production of several thousand pieces.

Our production and control techniques achieve the following results: qualitatively high-class, ready-to-install PMPTŪ synthetic housings that are tailored to specific demands, in which sensitive electronic components can be integrated safely and aesthetically.
